A macroeconomist working mainly on the economics of transition and the European integration of Central and East European countries. Former economic advisor to the president of Poland, Mr. Aleksander Kwasniewski. Founder of NOBE (Independent Centre for Economic Studies), one of Poland’s leading economic think-tanks, and the Dean of the Business School of the Warsaw University of Technology. Chief economic advisor to PricewaterhouseCoopers Polska.
Studied at the University of Lodz and the Harvard University. In the period 1993-1997 at the World Bank. From 2001 until 2005 the chief economic advisor to the president. In the past also advisor to the Chief Negotiator of the EU membership of Poland, member of the Macroeconomic Council of the Minister of Finance, consultant to many international and national bodies and organizations. Author of 6 books and 140 other scientific publications.
