M.Eng., architect, graduated from the Faculty of Architecture, Wrocław University of Technology; graduate of Salzburg Seminar 1987, lecturer 1993; Harvard Graduate School of Design 1993; junior lecturer at the Faculty of Architecture, Institute of Spatial Economy, Wrocław University of Technology 1974 – 1984.
Vice-President of the City of Warsaw 1990-2000; took part in the creation of local government in the Warsaw area after 1990.
Created and was first President of the Agency for Municipal Development (ARKA) supportive of local government in Poland 1994-1998.
Undersecretary of State in the Ministry of Regional Development and Construction 2000-2001.
More than 30 years’ experience in planning, designing and management of municipal development, and implementation of public investments; drafted plans and projects for urban areas in „Spółdzielnia Pracy Twórczej Architektów i Artystów Plastyków” (ESPEA).
Specializes in spatial economy and regional development, municipal investments and development planning; has qualifications for designing in spatial order and architecture; expert in local and regional development, Europe and Near East.
Member of many professional organisations, e.g. National Chamber of Architects (Vice-President 2002-), Board of the Council of Euroepan Architects (2004-), Board of the Foundation for Small and Medium Enterprise (1996-), Board of the Union of Polish Metropolies (1998-2006), Committee on Spatial Economy and Regional Planning, Polish Academy of Sciences (1998-2005).
